Logo.
VIBEs initial logo shown here on the e-flyer produced for last years show, due to the nature of how VIBE operated previously the logo seemed quite apt and showed the tensions within the group due to the large number of collaborating artists this string based logo design was produced, however i did not feel like it was recognisable nor was it sophisticated enough to inkeep with VIBEs new endeavours. So a redesign was necessary.
Following on this logo was deisgned encorporating the blue of Birmingham with a more traditional typeface however following a brief tutorial it was pointed out that it wasn't inkeeping with the young status that VIBE brings as a lot of the artists/creatives that will have been approached are relatively young in comparison to the nature of the logo which shows more of a classic representation.
Gemma kindly put together a few initial designs which brought me on to the following logo designs
After having spoken to a few people and gathering their opinions and thoughts, mainly those that are on the course, a good target group due to them all having very individual practices so each of them would have a very different outlook on the design, it was clear that the block lettering was the most welcome design and so we decided to use the above logo.
